I love systems. My other interests are economics, philosophy, technology, psychology, science, history, maps, mental models, and sports.

I spend most of my time backing early-stage founders who are building at the frontier.

I was previously a partner at a San Francisco-based investment firm, ran a consulting firm focused on industry research, worked at a solar financing startup, and played a lot of tennis.

I recently started to write more. It helps clarify my thinking. I love realizing that I’m wrong because that means I’ve taken one step closer to better understanding reality.
